Privacy Policy
Waynmer (“we”, “us”, “our”) makes Waynmer City Trader, an electronic interactive board game. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit waynmer.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
We keep this short and plain. If anything here is unclear, email us at privacy@waynmer.com and we will explain it.
1. Who we are
Waynmer is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We operate the website waynmer.com and the Waynmer City Trader launch newsletter.
Data controller contact: privacy@waynmer.com
Mailing address: [Waynmer — insert your registered postal address, e.g. street, city, state/province, postal code, country]. A valid physical postal address is required on every commercial email we send under the US CAN-SPAM Act.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run this website and tell you about the launch.
Information you give us
- Email address — when you type it into our “Get Waynmer City Trader launch news” form.
- Anything you include if you email us directly.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and referring page. This is standard information recorded by our hosting and content delivery provider when your browser loads a page.
- Usage data — pages viewed and actions taken on the site (for example, clicking “Back on Kickstarter”), collected through the Meta Pixel described in section 9.
We do not ask for or knowingly collect payment details, postal addresses, phone numbers, or government identifiers on this website. Purchases and pledges are handled by Kickstarter on their own platform, under their own privacy policy.
3. Why we collect it & our legal basis
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — to send you launch news and early-bird offers. You give this by ticking the consent checkbox on our signup form, and you can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — to keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We balance these interests against your privacy and do not use your data in ways you would not reasonably expect.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) — where we must retain records to comply with law.
We use your email address for one purpose: to tell you when the Waynmer City Trader Kickstarter campaign goes live, and to share related launch and early-bird updates. We do not sell your email address, and we do not add you to unrelated marketing lists.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate this site, and only for the purposes described here. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Formspree (United States) — receives and delivers the email addresses submitted through our signup form.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States) — operates the Meta Pixel used to measure site visits and advertising performance.
- Alibaba Cloud (China) — hosts the website files and delivers them through its content delivery network, and records standard technical logs.
- Our email provider — used to send launch announcements to subscribers.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition. We do not sell your personal information for money.
5. International data transfers
We are a globally accessible website, so your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States and China, where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those where you live.
Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, together with additional technical and organisational measures where appropriate.
6. How long we keep it
- Email addresses — kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and in any case no longer than 24 months after the Kickstarter campaign concludes.
- Technical and server logs — typically retained for a short operational period (generally up to 90 days) for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics data — retained according to our analytics provider’s retention settings.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time. Launch emails we send will include a one-click unsubscribe link and our mailing address.
7. Your rights (EEA / UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erase your personal information (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restrict how we process your information.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Data portability — receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@waynmer.com. We will respond within one month. We will never charge you a fee or treat you differently for making a request.
8. Your rights (California)
If you are a California resident, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of the Meta Pixel to measure advertising may be considered “sharing” under California law. You can opt out of this by emailing privacy@waynmer.com with the subject “Do Not Share My Personal Information”, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser settings.
In the 12 months before the date of this policy, we collected only the categories of information listed in section 2, for the business purposes listed in section 3.
9. Cookies, pixels & tracking
We use a Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to understand how visitors find and use our site and to measure the performance of our advertising. The Pixel may set cookies in your browser and can record actions such as page views and clicks on our Kickstarter buttons.
You can control tracking in several ways:
- Adjust cookie settings in your browser, including blocking or deleting third-party cookies.
- Use browser privacy features or extensions that block tracking scripts.
- Adjust your ad preferences in your Meta (Facebook/Instagram) account settings.
We do not currently display a cookie consent banner. If you are in a region that requires prior consent for non-essential tracking, and you do not want the Meta Pixel to record your visit, please use one of the blocking methods above before browsing the site.
10. Children’s privacy
Waynmer City Trader is a family game suitable for players aged 6 and up. However, this website and our newsletter are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country) without parental consent.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us their email address, contact privacy@waynmer.com and we will delete it promptly.
11. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including serving the site over HTTPS and limiting access to subscriber data to people who need it to run the launch. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the project grows — for example, when the campaign launches or if we add new tools. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we will notify subscribers by email.
13. Contact us
Questions about this policy, or want your data removed? We are happy to help.

- Mailing address: [Registered postal address — required under CAN-SPAM for commercial emails]
